Preparing

for RINVOQ

Take steps to get yourself ready

Getting RINVOQ may be different than getting other medicines you may have taken.

Insurance approvals, blood tests, and specific shipping may be required. You will also need to get RINVOQ from a specialty pharmacy.

When using a specialty pharmacy, you play an important role in the prescription process.

Here are 3 steps you can take to help the process.

Your doctor sends your prescription to a specialty pharmacy.

What you can do:

Get the name and phone number of the specialty pharmacy.

Sign up for the RINVOQ Complete Savings Card.*

*For eligible, commercially insured patients. Please see Terms and Conditions here.

Your specialty pharmacy verifies coverage with your insurance.

What you can do:

Always mention your Savings Card when you talk with your specialty pharmacy.

Be patient. Verifying your coverage can take a while.

Now is the time to reach out to your RINVOQ Complete Nurse Ambassador with any questions you may have about getting your medicine or any other questions you have about RINVOQ.

Your specialty pharmacy calls you to confirm where to mail your prescription and how you’ll be paying for any out-of-pocket costs.

What you can do:

Confirm date of the delivery.

If you don’t get a call from your specialty pharmacy, call them.

Nurse Ambassadors are provided by AbbVie and do not work under the direction of your health care professional (HCP) or give medical advice. They are trained to direct patients to their HCP for treatment-related advice, including further referrals.

Retail vs Specialty Pharmacies

While all pharmacies can fill prescriptions, specialty pharmacies are different from retail pharmacies.

Retail Pharmacies

Specialty Pharmacies

Types of prescriptions filled

Fill prescriptions for short- or long-term conditions.

Fill only specialty medicine prescriptions.

How you receive your prescription

You pick up or get the prescription delivered.

The prescription is shipped to your home.

Health insurance approvals and requirements

No extra health insurance steps. Typically, prescription is approved the same day.

Often, the use of a specialty pharmacy is required by your insurance company.

Specialty pharmacies may also require more complex insurance approvals and prior authorization.

Typically, it takes a few days for insurance approval.

If you ever have any questions about this process, your Ambassador can help. Just call 1.800.2RINVOQ (1.800.274.6867)
