Liz: Knowing what to say

Music track and RINVOQ logo throughout.

ALPANA: You were telling me about your joint pain and swelling and your skin plaques. We worked together to investigate on what was going on with you.

And I love how you talked about your lifestyle as well; things that you enjoy doing.

That really helped me, you know, work with you to make a decision because everybody’s different, and you sharing just a little bit about your life was really helpful.

LIZ: You need to be completely open and honest to get the help that you actually need.

ALPANA: I think it’s really important that patients discuss all their symptoms. Be open, even if it’s something that you think is the silliest thing.

LIZ: Little, tiny things you never thought would be connected actually could really help your doctor out.

ALPANA: I appreciate you coming back and saying, “this is not working; we need to try something else,” being vocal about it, advocating for yourself.

LIZ: Have that conversation with your doctor and have that relationship where you know that you can get the relief that you need.

ALPANA: Because that really helps to decide together on what would work best for you.

ALPANA: If around 3 months I’m not seeing any improvement, or even if I’m just seeing a little bit but it’s not significant, it’s time to move on.

Every patient’s different. One medication may work for you, it may not work for another patient, and so, sometimes it’s trial and error to find the right medication.

LIZ: Coming to RINVOQ, I’m back to where I feel like me.

ALPANA: It’s great to see that that swelling has improved in your hands and other joints as well. We worked as a team.

LIZ: We did it; I’m just glad that we landed on RINVOQ.
