Liz: Taking action

Music track and RINVOQ logo throughout.

LIZ: I’m Liz and I have active psoriatic arthritis. I’ve been on RINVOQ since 2022.

I was extremely active, playing a lot of tennis, cooking, but then things started getting a lot harder.

The TNF blocker that I was on stopped working. My hands were extremely swollen and inflamed. My joints were sore.

I couldn’t walk very far. I couldn’t cook every day. Definitely was on the sidelines in tennis.

I had a conversation with my doctor about my symptoms. When they told me if you don’t take action now, your joints can deteriorate and it could not be fixed.

So, we had to go a different direction, and that ended up being RINVOQ.

In 2 weeks of starting RINVOQ, I started noticing that my joints were much less swollen.

I had a lot of skin plaques on my arms, um, and on my head and on my forehead. With all the symptoms that I had, there was so much I was limited from doing in my regular life that I didn’t even realize that was missing.

I’ve taken control back.

I wanted to be able to run, swing a tennis racket. I wanted to be able to chop vegetables. I wanted to be able to carry a pan. Those were my goals.

What I would say to someone that is settling. You’re worth the fight. Don’t give up on yourself; people need you. You need to be out there in the world. Talk to your doctor. You’ve got this.

I’m looking forward to more adventures.

My husband and I, and my daughter, love to travel. Having the ability to walk and explore is super important.

I’m back in action.
