WITH MODERATE TO SEVERE CROHN’S DISEASE
For adults with moderate to severe Crohn’s disease in whom TNF blockers did not work well.
About Crohn’s disease (CD)
CD is part of a larger group of illnesses called inflammatory bowel diseases (IBDs). CD is a chronic or long-term, condition that causes inflammation in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, also known as the digestive system. It’s also a progressive condition, which means symptoms may change or even get worse over time.

Front of body
What is inflammation?
Inflammation is your body’s normal response to protect against something your immune system thinks will cause harm. When excess inflammation doesn’t go away, it can lead to conditions like CD.
Inflammation due to CD can affect any part of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. This is one of the ways it differs from other inflammatory diseases like ulcerative colitis, where inflammation is in the large intestine (colon and rectum).
Common Crohn’s disease symptoms include:
- Abdominal pain
- Persistent diarrhea
- Bowel urgency
- Weight loss
- Fatigue
Symptoms of CD can vary greatly depending on the person and affected area(s) of the GI tract.
Taking RINVOQ
It’s important to remember that CD is a chronic, or ongoing, condition. Taking RINVOQ as prescribed is important as CD can persist even though you don’t have symptoms.
RINVOQ must be taken exactly as prescribed by your doctor
- Take RINVOQ once a day, every day
- RINVOQ can be taken with or without food. Avoid food or drink containing grapefruit
- Do not split, crush, or chew the pill
Call your healthcare provider if you see medication residue (a whole tablet or tablet pieces) in your stool.
What should you do if you miss a dose?
- Call the doctor about the missed dose
- Set up a visual cue or reminder to help you remember to take RINVOQ
- Use treatment reminders and fill out your treatment log in the RINVOQ Complete App, so you know when/if you have taken RINVOQ
Check in with the doctor
Regular check-ins and open discussions with the doctor can help you stay on track with a prescribed treatment plan.

Track symptoms
Use the RINVOQ Complete App to keep track of symptoms and share them your doctor.

How RINVOQ works
RINVOQ works with your body to reduce the inflammation that can lead to CD symptoms. The amount of inflammation you have is controlled by many different proteins that are found naturally within your body. RINVOQ targets the activity of some of those proteins, known as Janus kinase (JAK), to help reduce inflammation.
Because JAK inhibitors, including RINVOQ, affect the immune system, they can lower the ability to fight infections and may cause other serious side effects. It’s important to talk to your healthcare provider about the possible side effects of prescription treatments.

VOICEOVER (VO): Crohn’s disease,
VO: also known as Crohn’s,
VO: is a condition where chronic inflammation damages your gastrointestinal tract.
VO: This can contribute to symptoms including abdominal pain, more frequent bowel movements, and fatigue.
VO: You may be used to thinking of inflammation as redness or swelling. When you’re healthy, inflammation is one of your body’s defenses against things that can hurt you or make you sick.
VO: But there is such a thing as too much inflammation. That’s the case with Crohn’s, where the GI tract gets inflamed even when your body doesn’t need the protection.
VO: Inflammation can build up, potentially damaging your GI tract.
VO: With Crohn’s, you may be wondering why your immune system doesn’t know when to stop making inflammation. Let’s take a look.
VO: Your body has many natural pathways involved in inflammation. They pass along information to help your immune system figure out when and where inflammation should happen.
VO: One of those pathways involves proteins known as Janus kinase, or JAK proteins. They can be found inside your body’s immune cells.
VO: With Crohn’s, some JAK proteins receive too many signals, causing your immune system to create too much inflammation. This inflammation can build up, causing more damage over time.
VO: RINVOQ is a prescription medicine used to treat adults with moderate to severe Crohn’s disease when 1 or more medicines called tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blockers have been used, and did not work well or could not be tolerated. It is not known if RINVOQ is safe and effective in children with Crohn’s disease.
VO: RINVOQ is a JAK inhibitor that helps stop the activity of some JAK proteins.
VO: RINVOQ helps stop the attack by reducing these signals that lead to excess inflammation.
VO: RINVOQ is a once-daily pill that travels through the bloodstream that can reduce inflammation to help decrease symptoms and give your intestinal lining the chance to achieve visibly reduced damage.
VO: In clinical studies, RINVOQ was proven to help people achieve rapid symptom relief, the opportunity to be in early remission without steroids, visibly reduced damage of the intestinal lining caused by excess inflammation, and significantly reduced fatigue.
VO: Ask your gastroenterologist if RINVOQ is right for you.
VO AND TEXT ON SCREEN: SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS
RINVOQ may cause serious side effects, including:
- Serious infections. RINVOQ can lower ability to fight infections. Serious infections, some fatal, occurred, including tuberculosis (TB) and infections caused by bacteria, fungi, or viruses.
- Increased risk of death in people age 50+ with at least 1 heart disease risk factor.
- Cancer and immune system problems. Increased risk of some cancers, including lymphoma and skin. Current or past smokers have higher risk for lymphoma and lung cancer.
- Increased risk of major cardiovascular events such as heart attack, stroke, or death in people 50+ with at least 1 heart disease risk factor, especially in current or past smokers.
- Blood clots, some fatal, in veins of the legs or lungs and arteries. This occurred more often in people 50+ with at least 1 heart disease risk factor.
- Serious allergic reactions. Do not take if allergic to RINVOQ or its ingredients.
- Tears in the stomach or intestines; changes in certain laboratory test results.

RINVOQ results
In clinical studies, RINVOQ helped people living with Crohn’s achieve remission at 12 weeks and 1 year.
Plus, RINVOQ helped deliver:
- Rapid symptom relief, including less abdominal pain and fewer bowel movements in as early as 2 weeks
- Visibly reduced damage of the intestinal lining*
*Based on endoscopy at 12 weeks and 1 year. - Early remission without steroids at Week 12, and lasting, steroid-free remission at 1 year
- Significantly reduced fatigue at 12 weeks
- Long-term results
- In another study, many people were in remission even at ~2 years†
†In a less rigorous study with data available at ~2 years, physicians and patients knew that RINVOQ was being used, which may have influenced the results. Results measured in RINVOQ-treated patients who met clinical response (decrease of CDAI score by ≥100 points) at 12 weeks.

Understanding the possible side effects of RINVOQ
